Only drove it home because of the transmission. What a shift pattern:
One of the smoothest transmissions I've ever driven in a truck.

Uhhhh why is it like that?

That this is gorgeous. Does it have 4x4 too?

The pattern? R is Reverse, L is Low, the numbers are their respective gears, and "D" is actually in that circle so it's "OD" for Overdrive/5th

It's lack of 4x4 is what meant the difference between driving it home tonight, and driving it home for years to come.

An automatic manual cross breed?!

Right but why? Actually I guess other than the L it's pretty standard...

L: For pulling down the house of your mortal enemy.

The L is for low speed pulling power (ripping stumps, whatever) an the "D" is actually "OD" for overdrive. My Ranger is pretty much the same, but without and "L" and with the "R" under the "OD"

is it 2wd? If it is, much want.

Ah, the ZF6, second only to the NV5600 in light duty truck transmissions.

I was going to ask if it was for sale if it was a 4x4, haha.

Come buy it from me tomorrow!

It wouldn't be, because it would be mine, muahahahahahahahahaha

Haha, fair enough.

So in a way, it's a dog-leg 6-speed manual where L is a really short first gear that you wouldn't want to use in normal starting-from-a-stop situations.

One way to look at it.
